President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, our 2019 Peace Hero
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was not only the first female president of Liberia from 2006-2018, she was the first elected female head of state in Africa. In 2011, she was jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her “non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work.” President Sirleaf is also credited for her efforts to bring peace to Liberia after a prolonged and brutal war. She encourages all people to dream big and to do the work to achieve their dreams. “The size of your dreams must always exceed your current capacity to achieve them. If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough.” President Sirleaf dreams big and she makes her dreams come true!

3. Is parking complementary?
All VIP ticket holders are invited to use the complementary valet. All other guests are invited to self-park free of charge.
4. Is this an adult only event?
The event is geared towards adults. All guests, regardless of age and with the exception of Kids for Peace youth presenters, are required to have an event ticket.
5. If my child/ children are presenting, do I need to purchase a ticket?
Yes. If you would like to stay with your child/children and see the ceremony in person, we kindly ask that you purchase an event ticket. Otherwise, we ask that you drop off and either wait at the resort or pick up your child/children after the official ceremony. We will confirm the details and exact times closer to the event date. Also, we will make sure to record the ceremony to share the joy with those who are not able to attend in person. Thank you for your understanding.
